I offer therapy in-office, via telephone, and/or online (Teletherapy)

While it is understandable that people typically want to know about the cost of therapy right up front, I encourage people to not let the cost of therapy be the deciding factor when choosing the right therapist. In the state of Virginia, I am currently paneled with CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO and considered to be an in-network provider with those two insurance companies. For all other insurance companies, I am able to help with submitting under your out-of-network benefits. For any client who would like to try to get a portion of the sessions reimbursed by your insurance company, I am happy to help with submitting as out-of-network and/or provide you with a “superbill” or a receipt of services for which you can submit to your insurance company. Your insurance company may then reimburse you a portion of the cost of therapy sessions (depending on your specific plan and coverage for seeing an out-of-network provider).

Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance companies to find out an explanation of mental health benefits and their coverage for seeing an in-network provider (if you have CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO or Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO) or an out-of-network (all other insurance companies) provider. For those who do not have CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO or Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO insurance, my session fee is $160 per 55-minute session (whether it is conducted in my office or via telephone or online). I do, however, set aside a certain number of sliding-scale slots for clients who may have difficulty paying the typical rate. In these cases, sessions would be an agreed upon rate between us.

If you would be in need of a sliding-scale slot, please inquire about this upon contacting me. I am happy to discuss this more with you.
